Reducing level requirements for items/general modification

Looking for some info about how to reduce item level requirements and/or modifying items names/images. I already understand how to mess with mods and things like that for applicable stats, but I'm not sure where to start when it comes to modifying the GUI for the items.

Most importantly, I can't find any information on how to effectively manipulate item/equipment level requirements. Any help would be much appreciated~ Thanks in advance!

There is both client and server side enforcement. you can easily edit the server side, but the client side would require dat modding or hacking to force-equip the items. In some cased /equip in game might work, but going through the menu's will not.

There is no modifying the UI for us via LSB, as the project is fully server side. To do anything client side is out of scope for LSB. I heard some folks have made tools to make dat modding easier, I'd link you to them if I had such a link handy. There are a few groups working on a fully 3rd party client, and I hope someday something usable gets release - the official client is pretty restrictive. FFXI really is not a good base to create new content in compared to...well anything else really.

To edit the server side requirements, those are in the item_equipment sql table, 3rd row of each column.

EDIT: direct it to your FFXI installation, find the items tab >weapons/Armor/Armor2, and click en under export. Then you can edit the YML file where the armor/weapon you want to modify, and change it's level in there alongside the DB.
