Hi @ibnshayed! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the countries-states-cities-database team.

The MongoDB export uses integer IDs because the data is sourced from MySQL, where IDs are auto-incremented integers. MongoDB's standard is a 24-character hexadecimal ObjectId, which is better for compatibility and tooling. The export process does not currently convert these integer IDs to ObjectIds, so the dump mirrors the MySQL IDs as-is source.

To fix this, you can either update the export process to generate ObjectIds, or post-process the dump to convert integer IDs to ObjectIds before importing into MongoDB. Alternatively, you can remove the integer IDs and let MongoDB assign ObjectIds automatically, but you’ll need to map any references accordingly.
