Difference between 1.4.x and 1.5.x (older) versions?

There are newer 1.4.x versions - and some 1.5,x -> can you explain which one to use for what? It doesn't become clear when comparing them: 1.4.30...1.5.7

I believe the main difference is the handling of inverted text in this commit. I maintain 1.4.x for internal archive.org usage until we decide that the invert change is indeed a change we also want to deploy in our setup. There's a lack of a test bench to compare quality and I haven't gotten around to doing a quality comparison on various cases to see if the inversion commit in 1.5.x / master is truly appropriate.
