gslapt downloading packages and dependencies without installing

Hello,

Would it be possible to add an option to package fetching of downloading a package including dependencies without installing them on the system. Something similar to the pacman -Sw ? This would be very useful for our distribution named Porteus.

There is an option to download only on the command line and in the UI. Do you mean something different?

1. How do I get the download_only_checkbutton on gslapt? I do not see it on the interface, see:

2. In command line:
   slapt-get -i -d digikam works well.
   The files are dumped into /var/slapt-get, this is great.
3. Producing FILE.TXT does not seem easy, but I will work on it. I understand that adding some repo like alien and ponce as in the following will not be enough. Is it?

From what I understand, I will have to produce the CHECKSUMS.md5and the FILES.TXT for the alien and the ponce repo.
Can I do that without dumping the content of these repos on my computer? Can you give an example of applying the two scripts you mention in the slapt-get FAQ 17. How do I create my own package source?

The download only checkbox resides on the confirmation dialogue after selections/mark all upgradeable is clicked. It will only download and leave the contents in /var/cache/slapt-get afterwards.

Producing your own repo is pretty straight forward. The Salix folks have better tooling than that FAQ entry. Check out https://docs.salixos.org/wiki/How_to_create_a_local_slackware_repository_with_dependency_support
