Auto csv import

Description

I have a lot of mp4 files and csv files with the same name in the same directory as an example.

D:\video1.mp4
D:\video1.csv

When opening the mp4 with losslesscut it would be great when the csv is imported automatically. I have always to import it manual to have the segments shown from the csv.

Would be cool to get this feature. Or an --import-segment option for CLI

Thanks — great idea. Short answer: not currently supported. LosslessCut will not automatically import a same-named .csv when you open the .mp4, and there is no --import-segment CLI flag today.

  • Auto-load of LosslessCut project files: LosslessCut will try to automatically load its own project file (*-proj.llc) saved next to the media — see src/renderer/src/hooks/useSegmentsAutoSave.ts#getEdlFilePath and the project-loading code in src/renderer/src/App.tsx (tryFindAndLoadProjectFile).
  • Import-on-open for project files: if you open a project file (CSV/EDL/etc.) while a media file is already open, LosslessCut will import it — see src/renderer/src/App.tsx (the matchingImportProjectType check) and the CSV parsing/load code in src/renderer/src/edlStore.ts (readEdlFile / loadCsv).
• Practical workarounds you can use right now:
  1. Save the segments as a LosslessCut project (.llc) — the app will try to load the *-proj.llc file automatically when you open the media.
  2. Open the CSV after the media is open (File → Import project → CSV, or open the CSV file in the running instance). From the CLI you can script this by opening the media, waiting a second, then opening the CSV so the running instance imports it, e.g.:

     LosslessCut "/path/to/video1.mp4"
     sleep 2
     LosslessCut "/path/to/video1.csv"

  3. Use File → Import project → CSV from the menu when the video is open.
• If you’d like this to be a built-in behavior (auto-import CSV with same basename or a --import-segment CLI flag), this issue is the right place to request it — thanks for filing it. I can leave the request open for community votes / PRs; I won’t promise a timeline, but a clear proposal or a PR would help it move forward faster.
