Unable to use YubiKeys with Tauri

Tauri on Linux uses WebkitGTK which apparently is not able to use my YubiKey (YubiKey 5 Series). I found reports of this being an actual limitation: 1, 2. FWIW I have the latest version installed

When I try to go through the Google Login:

Can this limitation be worked around somehow? Or am I doing something wrong? Curiously I found out that there are some "webauthn" modules in the source code (just Control-F for "webauthn" in this page) so I'm unsure if it's supposed to work.
