I would expect systemd to NOT be included in the image

Those packages very likely come from the base images we are using. centos/centos:stream10 contains them as well as ubi10-beta/ubi. And ubi10-beta/ubi-minimal contains only `systemd-libs.

In CentOS Stream 10, systemd is required by chrony and python3-systemd is required by python3-dnf-plugins-core so we cannot simply remove them until we are sure about the complete impact.

I mainly wanted to give heads-up in the case I'm the first one to notice.

If that's expected, it's fine.
However it might be good to prompt the respective package maintainers if really necessary, of whether the dependency tree can be cut for container use cases.
