What happened?

I use this USB flashdrive as it is one of the last available with a hardware switch to enable write protection:
https://www.amazon.com/-/en/dp/B0BFBDJXZW/

The drive was formatted with partition style MBR.
Partitions are as configured by Ventoy2Disk: One large exFAT partition and a small EFI partition.

Up until Ventoy v1.1.9 everything worked perfectly.
With Ventoy v1.1.10 the following bug was introduced:

  • When attaching the drive in write mode, the data partition is assigned a drive letter. EFI partition is hidden as usual.
  • When attaching the drive in write-protected mode, no volumes show up at all.
  • I checked with diskpart: "list part" shows 2 partitions, but there's no visible volumes with "list vol".

This behavior is reproducible, I completely wiped the drive and the same thing happened again.

This does NOT happen when using GPT partition style -or- with any older Ventoy version, I checked different combinations already.

Any ideas what could've changed between v1.1.9 and v1.1.10 that could trigger something like that?
Thanks for any help!
