Virtual Screen: how to use it?

Hello,

I'm trying better displays, so I'm on the free plan right now. I do like the hdpi scaling for external displays!

I'm trying to understand the virtual screen feature at the moment, so I've created a virtual screen.

However, I don't understand what I can do with it, except:

• I can assign a window to that screen;
• I can re-arrange it in the mac os settings (and use option to mirror it?)

But, how am I supposed to use it?

Is there a way to use it without a pro licence? (all options seems to be pro for that feature).

As-is, I just don't understand what I can use this for, since it's invisible and to the side.

Note: I've tried to look at other discussions, but it seems as-if everyone know how to use that directly.

I'd also like to know. There isn't any documentation on this and I was hoping to assign single, fullscreen applications, such as the terminal, to a virtual screen so I could target it with recording software but I'm stumped.

Hi there - I recommend the following:

• create and connect a 16:9 virtual screen with default settings.
• start the Picture in Picture window under the virtual screen's menu block.
• adjust the resolution of the virtual screen so it suits your recording format.
• Move a Terminal window to the virtual screen and set it to full screen.

Is there any use case for a virtual screen without Pro? PIP is a pro only feature it seems.

Yes, you can still mirror the contents of the virtual screen or use it with streaming apps that capture and show its content.
