Clamshell Mode not working

Hello everyone, I'm using BD Pro on my MacBook Air 2025. With the app, the clamshell mode is not working. I know that the power and mouse must be connected to use clamshell mode. Does anyone know how to fix that? When working from home I don't need the MacBook inbuilt display. This would waste the displays lifetime and energy.

Edit: The MacBook is connected directly to the( USB C to HDMI) to the external monitor (LG Electronics 34GS95QE-B.AEU)

Hi there - what do you mean by clamshell mode not working? If you close up your MacBook Air, make sure you have power connected and an external display, mouse and keyboard connected. If these are true, clamshell mode should be working (or at least the app does not interfere with this).

Do you have clamshell working when the app is not running?

Hi, thanks for your fast reply. The power is connected, also the external display as well as mouse and keyboard. When I close the MacBook, the external screen goes black because it receives no signal. When the App is not running, the clamshell mode is working well. Let me know if you need more information, I'm happy to assist.

Hmm. This might be something else as the app does not disable or interfere with clamshell mode like that, this is baked deep into macOS. You might want to try to reset display settings and see if it helps:

Hi @waydabber,

the solution was to delete /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.displays.plist It is not necessary to delete any other files/ do any other resets.
