Virtual screens won't work with HDR + HDR has a framebuffer pixel clock limit so at 120Hz you can get around 2400x... resolution. I'd stick to 120Hz SDR (Using an LG C5 myself) and switch to HDR only when I have HDR content to watch (for movies it is best to set the resolution to 1:1 pixel mapping anyway for best clarity). |

Good Day,
First, a big thank you for this awesome piece of software.
My setup:
Machine: Apple Mac mini M4 Pro 24GB RAM, 512GB SSD (monitor connected to native HDMI port)
OS: macOS 26.3 Beta (25D5087f)
Display: LG 48CXPUB (48" OLED TV)
Cable: Monoprice 8K Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable
Ask: I'm looking for the absolute best configuration to get the absolute best image possible. (HiDPI 3840x2160@120Hz HDR 10b)
I know "best image" is subjective, but if we think of it in terms of features and numbers, I think it can be quantified. I'd like to see if this setup can be driven at HiDPI 3840x2160@120Hz HDR 10b. So far, I've been able to configure BestDisplay to show:
HiDPI 3360x1890@60Hz HDR 10b. If I add a virtual screen, I think I can get it to display HiDPI 3840x2160@120Hz HDR 10b, but I see anomalies and odd video irregularities that unfortunately become too distracting.
So I guess, given this setup, what would be the best I can expect? Thank you in advance for any thoughts.
