MBM_paper

Code and data for the manuscript "Mode-based morphometry: A multiscale approach to mapping human neuroanatomy"

New approach describing any empirical map of anatomical variations in terms of the fundamental, resonant modes—eigenmodes—of brain anatomy

The toolbox can be download "here".

File descriptions

  1. data/: folder containing figure source data
  2. plot_figures/: folder containing MATLAB script to generate figures in the manuscript
  3. utils/: required packages and functions

Installation

Download the repository and read the comments and documentation within each code. Some of the MATLAB-based scripts depend on packages developed by others. Copies of these packages have been stored in the utils/ folder to ensure version compatibility. However, please visit their respective links below to get more details. We thank the contributors for sharing these packages.

Downloading data

Due to their file sizes exceeding the limit allowed by GitHub, you will need to fill the data/figure/ directories with data that you can download from this OSF repository. The total file size is 800MB.

Compatibility

The codes have been tested on versions of MATLAB from R2019b to R2023b.
