Snipaste does not collect any of your personal data.

All screenshots and images processed by Snipaste are kept local, under the history folder. It is your responsibility to keep them safe and private.

About Network Access

Snipaste will download images on your request (e.g. pinning a network image). Apart from this:

  • For Windows Store versions, Snipaste does not require network access.
  • For other versions, Snipaste will connect to network only when it checks for updates. At that time, the following information will be sent for telemetry use:
    • Snipaste's version (e.g. Snipaste 1.10 x64)
    • Snipaste's UI language (e.g. zh_cn)
    • OS version (e.g. Windows NT 10.0)
    • CPU architecture (e.g. x86_64)
    • System language (e.g. zh_CN)

These information helps the developer to understand what machines Snipaste is running on.

If you don't feel like it, you can turn off update checking in the preferences. Then Snipaste will never send this information to its server.
