Galamo v1.0.0 Release Announcement
We are pleased to announce the release of Galamo version 1.0.0, which introduces three new modules that significantly enhance the package’s capabilities in astronomical data analysis and image processing.
New Modules Introduced
galaxy_morph
The galaxy_morph module performs supervised morphological classification of galaxies into 10 detailed categories consistent with the Galaxy Zoo classification scheme. These categories reflect a comprehensive set of morphological features including Merger Galaxy (Disturbed Galaxy, Merging Galaxy) , Elliptical Galaxy (Round Smooth Galaxy, In-between Round Smooth Galaxy, Cigar Shaped Smooth Galaxy), Spiral Galaxy (Barred Spiral Galaxy, Unbarred Tight Spiral Galaxy, Unbarred Loose Spiral Galaxy, Edge-on Galaxy without Bulge, Edge-on Galaxy with Bulge).
bpt
Implements the Baldwin–Phillips–Terlevich (BPT) diagnostic method, enabling the classification of emission-line galaxies into star-forming, active galactic nuclei (AGN), and composite categories based on emission line ratios.
psr
Introduces low-light image enhancement functionality, aimed at improving the clarity and interpretability of astronomical images captured under low-signal or poor lighting conditions.
This release represents an important step forward in establishing Galamo as a robust and extensible toolkit for galaxy morphology studies, emission-line diagnostics, and astronomical image enhancement.
